Reasons for my Silence:

With the state of the world on full display during the COVID-19 pandemic, it hasn’t felt right to me to continue with blogging as a career. Influencer marketing and sponsored content almost always revolve around selling something, which I couldn’t justify while so many in the world were suffering, in large part due to capitalism and all that comes with it.

When I started blogging nearly 10 years ago, it was about sharing and genuine story-telling. As an industry that has blown up in the last decade, blogging has transformed into the high-stakes game of influencer marketing and it’s just not where my passion lies. I will continue to work with brands that I feel passionate about, share about my favorite small businesses, and tell the stories I want to tell, but I refuse to beg my readers to interact with forced content so I can make a few bucks. *end rant*

Additionally, my main energetic focus in my free-time has shifted. At this point, I don’t feel the call to share the intimate details of my current spiritual path all the time, so I’ve been sharing less, since my content is about just that: my path.

What I’ve Been up To:

  • Reading about neolithic Goddess cultures
  • Talking to seedlings
  • Obsessively journaling about these seedlings
  • Teaching old man Bob not to poop in my brand new raised beds
  • Protecting magical baby rose bushes from May frosts
  • Picking dandelions
  • Buying books…a lot of books.
  • Meditating with the Moon
  • Studying tarot archetypes
  • Taking a deep dive into my natal chart
  • Baking…a lot.
  • Chatting with my sky-clad daughter
  • Hatchimals…lots of Hatchimals

Moral of my Story:

In 2020, the world was forced to slow down and everyone who was privileged enough to do so safely was thankful for the reminder of what was really important. Now in 2021, with the pandemic far from actually over, that concept seems forgotten to many. “Essential employees” are once again “minimum wage workers” and the feeling of supporting the collective good is long gone. While I look forward to the day that I feel comfortable socializing and traveling, I will not be returning to “normal” any time soon. This slow, quiet life is precious, and I’m going to cherish every moment♥
