There is one more day to check out the Polish Pickup January 2022 pre-order, and the theme this month is Spices & Condiments. In case you didn’t already know, Polish Pickup is a Facebook group and pop-up shop that offers monthly pre-orders of indie polish and crafts made to themes voted on by members of the group. KBShimmer is bringing their Restoration Drops Polish Thinner to Polish Pickup again. This is my go-to thinner since it only contains butyl and ethyl acetate, ingredients found in all “free” polishes, and not butane or heptane, which are sometimes in beauty supply thinners which can damage some pigments and glitter. I most often use Restoration Drops to keep my top coats nice and smooth. Generally I will use a top coat until 1/3rd empty, then start a new bottle, then start filling the new bottle with the old one and thinner as I use it. This makes all my uses feel like a fresh, new bottle and I can use all my products until the last drop! And I never have to fear an old polish getting thick – with care and time this can bring a rock-solid, dried-out polish back to life.
Price: $7 for 4 oz.
KBShimmer Say It Ain’t Cilantro is a muted cilantro green with white reflective pigment/glitter. I wore it in three thin coats, but two will cover. The dry time is medium-to-slow, so I recommend a quick drying top coat and drying drops. I like KBShimmer’s Free & Clear to fill in textured polish. If you don’t use a top coat, it will dry with a sandy texture. This reflective pigment is made of tiny glass balls with reflective coating, like the pigment used on road signs, and it can scratch the natural nail if you scrub it off during removal – I recommend you use more cotton pads than usual and avoid scrubbing. But you won’t need a peel off base coat to remove unlike a similarly dense microglitter.
Pretty Beautiful Unlimited Sweet Vanilla Orange & Spice is a 2.5 oz. soy way melt in a clam-shell packaging. This month the scent includes cane sugar, valencia orange, bergamot, tangerine zest, orange juice, clove, ground pepper, chili pepper, cinnamon, vanilla bean, amber, sandalwood, and cashmere musk notes.
